Nodusfall is a brand new Multi-Mythology Co-Op Action Game from HoYoverse, the studio behind Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero, and it's the biggest departure they've ever made. This one is NOT anime, it's a realistic 3D action game built in Unreal Engine 5 where squads of players take on colossal mythological creatures, and it was revealed during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2026.
In this video I give my completely blind first reaction to the Nodusfall world premiere trailer, then go back through it frame by frame to break down the gameplay, the mythology and the story, along with everything I could find on the official website.
You play as a Weaver, someone shaped and awakened by the essence of creation itself, dropped into a shattered world after a mysterious Dreadnodus descends and corrupts the land's legendary beings. Your job is to sever the Dreadnodus at its root and reclaim the divine power that was lost, and based on the official site that means reaping divine power directly from the enemies you kill to unlock Divine Skills of your own.
The trailer gives us a lot to work with. Four player co-op against enormous bosses, multi-phase boss fights, thread-based grapple mobility, massive divine transformations, and creatures pulled from Chinese, Norse and Western mythology all sharing one original world.
