Two indie football games might be about to do what EA SPORTS FC 26 still refuses to do properly.
For years, Career Mode players have been asking for a deeper, more realistic and more immersive football experience. Better transfer AI, proper scouting, youth development, tactical depth, moddable teams, realistic gameplay, and a football world that actually feels alive. Instead, EA FC Career Mode has often felt like the same old mode with a few small changes.
But now, two indie football projects are starting to get serious attention.
In this video, we look at Football Rewritten, the ambitious football management game being built by Geografifa. From era-based saves starting anywhere from the 1970s to the modern day, to a living football world, youth academies, scouting regions, tactical systems, transfer AI, press clippings and moddable teams, this could become one of the most exciting Career Mode-style football games we have seen in years.
We also look at the realistic football simulation project from 4fans Games, an indie football game focused on gameplay, AI, tactics, offline play, realistic visuals, smooth player movement and full modding support. Unlike many early football projects, this one already shows controllable players, impressive lighting, stadium atmosphere and a serious focus on making football feel closer to real life.
Could Football Rewritten and 4fans Games become real alternatives to EA SPORTS FC 26, Football Manager, eFootball and UFL? Or are these still early passion projects with a long way to go?
Either way, football gaming finally has something genuinely exciting to talk about.
If you enjoy FC 26, Career Mode, Football Manager, indie football games, realistic football gameplay and the future of football gaming, make sure to like the video and subscribe for more updates.
