Kotaku (and many other gaming media publications) have been on a set trajectory for quite some time... but as the pushback against moral and ethical preaching within a medium that rarely necessitates, deserves or calls for it mounts, the tides may be changing.

Gaming journalists have long sought to redefine what their audience believes rather than craft content to best express the industry around them... and that type of endeavor is not an infinite cycle... it will either succeed, or eventually fail.
