Red Dead Redemption 2 will have a "new online multiplayer experience", says Rockstar. But what can we expect from Red Dead Redemption 2's multiplayer, beyond the heavy influence of GTA Online? If we’re taking as read that the multiplayer gameplay of Red Dead Redemption Online will take its cues from Rockstar’s wildly successful Grand Theft Auto Online, then it's also worth pondering how it should be different.

To that end, what’s to say we definitely have to be on the wrong side of the law in Red Dead Online?
What if there were different factions you could join, such as Outlaws for those who want to rob banks and rustle cattle, and Lawbringers for those who want to pin on a sheriff's badge and round up bad guys?
Maybe even give us a third option, such as mercenary, bounty-hunting Gunslingers, for those players whose moral compass looks like it’s been left next to a magnet.
