5 Silent Hills Theories So Creepy They Might Be True

Silent Hills is the next game in the venerable Silent Hill survival horror series. It's being overseen by Metal Gear Solid creator Hideo Kojima and famed horror director Guillermo Del Toro, and anything Kojima has a hand in incites more internet sleuthing and far-fetched theories than a historic moon landing.

Hot off the internet, here are five of our favourite fan theories so creepy they might just be true. Watch out for spoilers for previous Silent Hill games and the Silent Hills "playable teaser" P.T.

Del Toro and Kojima hinted at their vision for Silent Hills with the heart-stopping terror of P.T., the playable teaser revealed at Sony's Gamescom conference. But what will it be about? Who will you play as? Which consoles will you play it on? We just don't know yet - though chances are it will be a multi-platform game, given lack of official word to the contrary.

So far the mystery around Silent Hills is thicker than the spooky fog around the old helltown itself, but that hasn't kept series fans from formulating their own intriguing theories. These include multiple universes, aliens, VR headsets, gamers and gamer-targeted meta scares.
