For example, in episode one of Telltale's Game of Thrones, you come up against turbo bastard Ramsay Bolton, who in classic Ramsay Bolton fashion has turned up at your family home with a load of men with swords and is now cutting about the place threatening children.

Regardless of whether you choose to be defiant or deferential to Westeros’s worst person, you end up with a dagger through the neck and a position on another list feature about the saddest Game of Thrones deaths.

Less deadly but no less meaningless is your choice of brooch for Elizabeth in Bioshock Infinite. There are two brooches on offer, one depicting a bird and the other a cage, and Elizabeth asks you to choose for her.

Both images are highly symbolic. With Elizabeth having been imprisoned for most of her life, the cage has negative associations aplenty. But though the bird could represent freedom, let’s not forget her prison guard is an actual giant bird, so that too could be a bad choice.

Well, I wouldn’t worry too much as the brooches are literally never mentioned again. Hope you didn’t put too much thought into it.
