7 Times Games Were Sick of Your Nonsense

Shot your commanding officer? Late for a hostage rescue? Sniped a wild dog? These seven games aren't going to humour you any more. Come on, get in character! Subscribe for more from Outside Xbox: http://tinyurl.com/SubToOxbox

The point of a game is that you're in control and with that interactivity, comes the freedom to muck around, kill the wrong things and generally not take it seriously. Most of the time you get away with it.

But not in Halo, where if you make Master Chief run back onto the bridge of the Pillar of Autumn and execute Captain Keyes, a squad of invincible marines spawns in and kills you to bits.

Or in Deus Ex: Human Revolution, where if you don't hurry along to a hostage rescue like your boss tells you, the hostages die and it's all your fault for being late, having wasted time breaking into offices and turning on all the bathroom taps.

Or in Assassin's Creed 3, in which you had better not go on an hilarious animal killing spree unless you're going to skin every last animal corpse, because that's super ultra non-canon for Connor Kenway and his respect for nature.

When were you punished for getting out of character? Share it in the comments.
