We thought you got to hell by doing bad things such as murder or walking slowly with people behind you, but there are loads of alternative routes to the hot place, say videogames. If you need to get down there in a hurry, consider your many transport options.

A hell portal is one convenient route, though Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, Minecraft and Doom propose different methods of construction. Grim Fandango and Sam and Max: What's New, Beelzebub recommend train travel, while in Dante's Inferno burly crusader Dante Alighieri reaches the devil's doorstep by sliding down a fireman's pole made of corpses.
