AION 2 is an upcoming MMORPG that’s been in development since 2018, This is a game that upon initial announcement I had zero hype for because it seemed like it would be almost entirely designed for mobile with a PC port tacked on like Blade & Soul 2 which was announced at a similar time, thankfully this doesn’t actually seem to be the case and from the recent footage shown of AION 2 it definitely looks way more PC focused than mobile, According to the devs, whilst AION 2 will be playable on mobile they don’t expect mobile players to be able to do the difficult content, It’s expected that mobile will be more for casual content like crafting, gathering and mini games.
In this video I’ll share with you the recently revealed gameplay of AION 2 as well as give you my thoughts on the game, explaining why this has gone from something I wasn’t even gonna cover on the channel to a game I’m looking forward to trying out.

AION 2 MMORPG Description
Aion 2 is NCsoft's upcoming action-focused MMORPG, set to launch in Korea in late 2025 and globally in the first half of 2026 after a significant appearance at Gamescom 2025 in August. Developed in Unreal Engine 5, the game will feature a dynamic, real-time action combat system, an expansive open world with integrated flight, and a more modern monetization model than previous NCsoft titles.
Key Features
Action Combat: Aion 2 shifts from the original's tab-targeting to a dynamic combat system emphasizing manual control, dodging, and chain skills, with no auto-combat.
Open World & Flight: The game will feature a massive, visually stunning open world where players can fly freely, similar to the original Aion, but with a more integrated system.
Modern Monetization: The developers are aiming for a more user-friendly and less "pay-to-win" approach to monetization compared to some of NCsoft's previous games.
Unreal Engine 5: The game is being developed using Unreal Engine 5, promising high-quality graphics and visuals.
Character Creator & Mounts: It will include a deep character creation system and a robust mount system where players can collect fragments to craft and upgrade mounts for faster travel.
Release Details
Korean Release: Late 2025
Global Release: 2026 (first half)
Marketing: A significant marketing push will begin in the second half of 2025, with an appearance at Gamescom 2025.
