Assassin's Creed Odyssey, is a perfect example of why just because a game is bigger doesn't make it better. Assassin's Creed Odyssey is massive and that ends up working against it more than for it as there's a lots of dead boring space in it's world, long travel times, and lots of overstuffed side quests and gear that just make the game feel bloated, overwhelming, and grindy. Assassin's Creed Odyssey fell victim to what a lot of open world games do, as they make their games too big and focus on quantity over quality which leaves the actual content feeling watered down and less detailed then it should. Assassin's Creed Odyssey's sheer massive size is why I believe it struggles to deliver a fun and constantly engaging open world rpg game and while other games are close to the scale of Odyssey, they still manage to put quality side content and world activites along with random events, ex: red dead redemption 2 and the witcher 3.
