Call of Duty has a long standing fanbase that seems almost unshakable. Knowing that this audience is receptive to lateral movement sin the franchise... the games "success" becomes something that has less to do with gameplay than most other releases, and far more to do with the surrounding impressions and atmosphere.

Atmosphere thrives on curiosity, and reactance... so knowing that the media currently condemns this title for daring to cover topics that relate to contemporary events... the stage seems set for a largely successful Call of Duty game... for reasons that have almost nothing to do with core mechanical gameplay.
