Slardar is a carry who focuses on snowballing on enemy heroes while being a gank and teamfight presence. To do this, you generally will need to purchase a blink dagger for early ganks, and later a Black King Bar once you start blinking into 3-5 heroes with stuns.
I used to go for armlet, but that build is less viable now that armlet is nerfed, and I think this is the strongest build.
