Venomancer is one of the best support heroes right now because of his versatile skill set that allows you to do many things.
He has a fantastic gank and anti-melee hero spell in Gale, which makes him strong at level 1(though limits his damage output), and once you put a few levels into plague wards, your push and counter push can help your team get gold and prevent your opponents from getting it.
Once you hit 6, you can also pick up your ulti which helps your team win teamfights with big poison damage over time.
If you build utility items on him as a support hero, like mek and force staff, then you can further cement your team's victory.
