Nobel Peace Prize laureate and Former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari has been a peace mediator in many conflict areas around the world. Now, he has taken up the challenge to reconcile the vicious conflict between birds and pigs on Piggy Island.

A truce between birds and pigs has been signed for the duration of the 2014 Ahtisaari Days, an event held November 11-13 highlighting the importance of peace mediation. The aim is to make peace work and mediation part of everyone’s daily life by treating the theme in schools, at public events and among experts. http://www.ahtisaaripaivat.fi/en/
