Rainbow 6 Siege Single Player Gameplay: Rainbow 6 Siege single player mode is a thing that exists, though Situations mode is a solo training mode rather than a fully fledged single player story campaign. Watch Rainbow 6 Siege single player gameplay and subscribe: http://www.tinyurl.com/SubToOxbox

Like a counter-terrorist squad preparing for a night raid on a besieged chalet, we've been in the dark so far on what single player mode in Rainbow 6 Siege looks like, or how it differs exactly from the team-based co-operative multiplayer action the developer has so far emphasised.

So here it is: single player mode in Rainbow 6 Siege is known as Situations: a training mode consisting of 11 missions with objectives you have to clear on your lonesome.

You're designated with a specific operator class for each mission and sent off into the field by Angela Bassett's Agent Six.

In one mission, for instance, you have to clear a building full of explosive mines and explosive-loving enemies with operator IQ and her wrist-mounted scanner for sniffing out nitro cells.

In another mission, you're the guy with the nitro-neutralizing EMP grenade, who has to rescue a hostage from a chalet lit up with twinkling red nitro cells like a big, blow-uppy Christmas tree.

In a third Situations mission, also featured in the video above, you're equipped with a laser booby trap and bundles of barbed wire for securing a biker club house and defending a hostage from waves of attackers.

Rainbow 6 Siege's single player mode is essentially a training mode, then, for teaching you the basics with operator classes and their gadgets.

In addition, you're awarded stars in your after action report according to whether or not you've fulfilled special extra criteria, such as completing the mission under a time limit or walking away with half your health left.

If you had your heart set on a rollercoaster of scripted action set pieces and character development, that's not this, but it'll get you in shape for the main game. What do you make of it? Let us know in the comments.
