Unravel is a puzzle platformer in which you play as Yarny: a little critter made of red wool who is either adorable or terrifying, depending on how long you stare into his pitiless white eyes.

As Yarny you scamper through the great outdoors, where gardens and beaches take on a new scale thanks to Yarny's titchy size, turning kites into hangliders, apples into bridges, and crabs into gross deadly giant crab monsters.

Your handmade hero is also snagged on something unspecificed at the start of each level, which means he leaves behind more and more of his yarny innards (and outtards) as he moves forward.

You can use Yarny's yarn to create tightropes, or to haul yourself up to higher platforms, or to swing around the place like a woolly Tarzan. It seems like that would be painful, but Yarny has no mouth with which to scream, so we will never know for sure.

Unravel is out now on Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
