Frankenstein's Monster is getting hitched again! This time The Bride takes center stage in a garish new retelling from director Maggie Gyllenhaal. With Jessie Buckley in the title role, Christian Bale as the monster Frank and a cast rounded out by Peter Sarsgaard, Annette Bening, Jake Gyllenhaal and Penelope Cruz, the classic science fiction icon ditches the lightning struck hairdo and 4 minutes of screen time in 1935, for the lead in a Bonnie and Clyde fueled extravaganza. Critic and author Hanna Flint reviews the latest entry into Frankenstein canon, and talks with IGN's Clint Gage about actors-turned-directors, adapting 200 year old text and whether the movie might actually try to do too much.
