PUBG is a game that once held strong as the pinnacle of Battle Royale. In 2017, it even set recurring player count records on steam... but more recently it has fallen from its once industry defining highs, and landed in a precarious position.

As China cracks down on its domestic gaming market, trends are starting to emerge that show a profound impact on PUBG, and as its founder strikes out on a new project (Neural Network AI worlds, with a tech demo called "Prologue") Things are starting to look rather bleak for the game. (At least for the lingering North American Player base.
