The Enigmatic Nature of Cyberpunk 2077 Hype and Reception

To be very, VERY clear, I hope and expect Cyberpunk 2077 to be an interesting, well-crafted game. CD Project Red has earned that level of faith IMO.

However, the symbolic nature of this game, which it has adopted now over the course of many months where skyrocketing hype was blasted across the industry has made it so that what the game actually IS, might have far less impact than it should on how people perceive it.

I believe that the audience is becoming so hyped, fanatical, and entrenched in their existing perspectives... what the game really is will matter far less than it should to the two ravenous extremes.
