The Evil Within's Executioner DLC turns The Evil Within into an arcadey boss rush mode, in which you smash enemies and bosses from the main game with Boxhead's giant meat-tenderizing hammer.

Downed enemies dispense coins for spending in the in-game store that looks exactly like Boxhead's own box head and is filled with gristly flesh, because The Evil Within. From there you can eventually purchase the chainsaw, the RPG launcher, and replenish your supplies of dynamite and razor traps.

No matter how many of The Evil Within's zombie-alikes you mulch, the most gruesomely compelling thing about Boxhead will always be how he can teleport by wrenching off his own head and respawning underneath a similar combination safe in an otherwise unreachable location. Ick.

Look out for old The Evil Within favourites(?) in the gameplay above, such as a monsterified Joseph Oda, Zehn, the Sadist and the Amalgam Alpha. The Evil Within's Executioner DLC is out now on Xbox One (release date 26 May 2015).
