Tom Sator, a Hungarian by birth, came to the US just prior to the US entry into the war in search of safety. Eventually he joined the US Army, and was a tanker. Trained in Fort Knox, he joined the 4th Armored Division, the Lucky Seventh, and fought under Patton’s Third Army from France through Belgium, Germany and finished the war in Czechoslovakia.
