The game’s Victorian London looks pretty thanks to Unreal Engine 4, and as with previous Sherlock games you’ll spend a lot of your time scrutinising people to build up character portraits and rifling through their possessions to gain clues.

What you might not be expecting is to spend a significant amount of time as a Victorian urchin, shining people’s shoes, sweeping chimneys and tailing baddies from the rooftops in the style of Assassin’s Creed. Hey, whatever gets the case solved, right, Holmes?
