Show of the Week puts Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments and Mike's deductive reasoning under the magnifying glass. Watch to see Crimes and Punishments in action on Xbox One, and us solving the mysterious case of a passenger train which vanishes into thin air. It's not all painstaking detective work, though; we let Mike be Sherlock so there are a number of shootings.

Like Batman, Sherlock Holmes is called the world's greatest detective. In Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments, though, he is less Batman than he is Judge Dredd, since Sherlock is the law.

It's up to Sherlock to deduce who is guilty and also to decide how they should be punished. The twist is that it is possible to fluff your detective work and convict the wrong suspect without losing the game.

Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments mostly involves you investigating crime scenes and drawing catty conclusions from people's outfits, both of which get you clues which can be combined in your mind palace to point towards deductions.

Reach a solid conclusion with your detective work and you can accuse your suspect, then make a moral choice about their fate. You are afterwards given the option to discover if you were right or not, but if you prefer you can just proceed with the game, never knowing if you sent an innocent person to the gallows (Sherlock ain't give a damn).
