Evidently.. ArcheWorld is new ground for XLGames. This is, I believe, their first time pursuing NFTs and implementing them fully into a video game.
I'm not sure what they were thinking with it, though, as I don't anticipate players - their players - their fans, to receive it all too well. But when your flagship intellectual property is floundering... you do what you gotta, right?
Either way, this doesn't bode well for ArcheAge 2. Or the current iteration of ArcheAge, really, as XLGames have expressed where they want to take their franchise.
