Earthshaker is an extremely fun support hero because he has a large handful of stuns and a very different playstyle from most support heroes.
You essentially help with ganks and space creation with nothing more than a fissure, and in the mid game you aim for a blink dagger which gives you MASSIVE gank and teamfight presence.
Arcane boots is still recommended before Blink Dagger despite the recent buff to blink, which makes it cost 0 mana.
