Necrophos is the newly renamed Necrolyte. He's not a top tier mid, but he's reasonably okay for pub games because of his range, his aoe, and his usefulness as a bottle hero mid.

In the early game, you should aim for survivability items that make you tankier or more survivable through utility. You have to adjust these based on the heroes you are playing against! Sometimes you get mek first, other times a Shivas, sometimes a force staff. You should ALWAYS make a wand though!

In the mid game aim for bigger items like Hex(something I think I should have possibly gotten over aghs this game).
