Lina is a support hero whose strengths lie in burst damage, ranged harass, aoe, and a low cooldown disable. She works very effectively against high impact heroes like Invoker, because you can blow him up immediately upon him being disabled, and take him out of fights right away.
Try to farm/support your way towards a relatively fast arcane boots, then you can be active on the map and help secure kills.
